Scopus is an academic database containing abstracts, references and citations of peer-reviewed literature, such as scientific journals, books and conferences. The database provides an overview of the world's research production in science, technology, medicine, social sciences and arts and humanities and has tools for tracking, analyzing and visualizing research.
On July 1, 2017, the database contained 67 million abstracts, references and citations for articles in research journals, as well as 562 journals, distributed on 34,000 books and 1.39 million entries. In addition, there are close to 8 million conference papers from almost 100,000 worldwide events, as well as 28 million patents from five patent offices.
Scopus is updated daily and it is possible to see if the UCN Library has access to that article etc.
Scopus is developed and maintained by Elsevier, Amsterdam and London.
